About the role

This position is within the Non-Kinetic Effects Business Area of the Defense Sector, based in Arlington, VA. As a cleared Model-Based Systems Engineer, you will support multiple DoD customers in developing advanced technology to protect warfighters. Your work will involve requirement and design architecture analysis, MBSE model development, and creating briefing materials for design reviews and technical exchanges.

Responsibilities

  • Use MBSE methodologies and tools to develop system architectures for new programs and integrate Leidos capabilities into test or fielded hardware.
  • Align solution architecture with customer requirements.
  • Exercise existing MBSE tools and models, and create new models to represent emerging systems using tools like NoMagic CSM.
  • Capture, decompose, and trace system-level requirements.
  • Analyze, define, and refine architectures and interfaces.
  • Develop system structure and behavior models.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, software, test, mechanical, and electrical teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 1 year of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, test engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret (TS) clearance.
  • Experience working in a Systems Integration Lab (SIL) environment.
  • Experience with SysML, preferably using Cameo/MagicDraw.
  • Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in both one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Arlington, VA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active TS clearance.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, preferably Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • OCSMP (OMG Certification for Systems Modeling Professionals).
  • Experience with executable SysML simulation capabilities and scripting languages.
  • Experience with MBSE methodologies such as MagicGrid.
  • Understanding of military CONOPS.
  • Experience in Non-Kinetic Effects (NKE) or Electronic Warfare.

Pay

Pay Range: $69,550.00 - $125,725.00. The Leidos pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors considered include job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and applicable bargaining agreements.
