Model-Based Systems Engineer
BAE Systems is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer to join our team. The candidate will champion the implementation of Agile-MBSE best practices, empower programs across our Sector with the latest MBSE training, and provide technical guidance on model development and process implementation. This role will drive our transition to a Digital Enterprise (DE), where virtual and cloud-based networks redefine traditional engineering boundaries.
Responsibilities
- Utilize knowledge of MBSE processes, practices, tools, and modeling languages/frameworks (e.g., SysML, UML, UAF) to solve complex technical problems.
- Guide programs in their total MBSE development activities.
- Collaborate with project teams and leadership to develop MBSE training materials and company best practices.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a Secret level clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, or Master’s Degree in a STEM field and 6+ years of experience in Systems Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience building models and developing modeling strategies using MBSE methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Strong technical skills in MBSE, including:
- Experience with MagicDraw/Cameo and associated plug-ins.
- Proficiency in UML, SysML, and other relevant modeling languages and frameworks.
- Ability to create specialized searches and analyze problems through MBSE models.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to contribute to the development of MBSE training materials, best practices, and processes, and guide programs in their MBSE activities.
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of Cloud technologies and platform services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Direct experience building 3-5 full-scale models, including parametric functions and simulation execution.
- Experience in Agile software development methodologies and task management tools (e.g., Jira).
- Experience in Modeling, Simulation, Visualization, and Analysis (MSVA).
- Familiarity with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI).
- Knowledge of Government Reference Architectures (GRAs) and Autonomy solutions.
- Experience working in all phases of the engineering product development lifecycle.
- Classroom and on-the-job teaching experience.
- Training material development.
- Electronic Warfare (EW) experience.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $72,150 – $122,655. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
