Model Based Systems Engineer
About the role
The Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) will support the development of advanced hypersonic wind tunnel capabilities and other complex aerospace systems. This role offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and technical leaders on challenging national defense and aerospace programs. You will solve complex engineering problems, collaborate across disciplines, and build scalable MBSE solutions that directly support critical mission objectives. You will be one of the first employees hired in Indiana to support the NSWC Crane efforts, with the opportunity to mentor and shape the team culture. The team currently works from an office in a co-working facility at the Westgate Academy until permanent office space is secured, with an option to work from home 2-3 days a week. You will collaborate with engineers at headquarters in Huntsville, AL. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI, and is a fully onsite position in Detroit, MI. The position is anticipated to close on Oct 12, 2026.
