Mod Wrestling Coach

About the role

Mod Wrestling Coach Level A‑Step 1 (60% appointment) reporting to the Athletic Director and Varsity Head Coach in Brockport. Position begins November 30, 2026 for the 2026‑2027 winter season, with a one‑year appointment.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the Head Varsity Coach to provide leadership for the wrestling program.
• Ensure program articulation and consistency; communicate regularly with the varsity head coach.
• Stay current on issues and trends in the sport.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Director to ensure compliance with NYSPHSAA, MCPSAC league, and Brockport Central School District policies.
• Plan and supervise all aspects of the modified level.
• Serve as a role model for sportsmanship, professionalism, and integrity.
• Complete injury reports accurately and timely.
• Supervise athletes before and after practice until dismissed to a parent/guardian.
• Provide equal playing opportunities per MCPSAC and NYSPHSAA participation rules.
• Communicate with the Athletic Director, varsity head coach, and parents as appropriate.
• Teach appropriate rules, strategies, and skills to athletes.
• Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and uniforms.
• Implement a safe and secure environment at all practices and contests.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed.
• Complete and submit official vouchers for each contest to the Athletic Office promptly.
• Review and enforce academic/attendance eligibility rules.
• Notify the Athletic Director of unusual incidents or personnel concerns promptly.
• Attend required meetings: pre‑season athlete/parent meetings, staff meetings as requested by the head varsity coach, and post‑season meeting with the Athletic Director.

Requirements

• New York State Teacher certification (preferred).
• NYS Coaching Licensing (TEACH account, if applicable).
• Current First Aid for coaches as required by NYS.
• Current CPR/AED as required by NYS.
• Current Concussion training (NFHS/DASA).
• Fingerprinting clearance.
• Annual Sexual Harassment training.

Pay

$3,108 (60% of Level A‑Step 1 per the BTA Coaching Salary Schedule).
