MOC Planner
About the role
The MOC Planner reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) Planning and schedules maintenance events during the operational day to maintain Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory compliance. The MOC Planner ensures all maintenance is scheduled within the required time, providing viable options to route, re-route, and swap aircraft flying lines to accommodate planned maintenance requirements. The role balances the needs of Technical Operations, System Operations, Marketing, and other internal/external customers while preventing overfly activity of maintenance tasks. The MOC Planner is responsible for repositioning aircraft for maintenance needs, including during Irregular Operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensures required maintenance is scheduled within calendar, flight-hour, and flight-cycle limits as specified by JetBlue’s approved maintenance programs, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, and Special Instructions.
- Works closely with the Systems Operation Center (SOC) to manage TOPS and routing changes, accounting for manpower, ground time, parts, tooling, facilities, weather, and other constraints to schedule maintenance events within required intervals.
- Ensures all scheduled planned maintenance is correctly updated after any swap or reroute event.
- Responds to requests for deferred or busted tasks and reschedules deferred maintenance to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Tracks accomplishment of Aircraft Service Checks, low-time items, Minimum Equipment Lists (MELs), Long Term Deferrals (LTDs), Non-Essential Furnishing (NEF) Configuration Deviation List (CDL), and General Maintenance Manual (GMM) tasks, collaborating with Aircraft on Ground (AOG)/MOC for execution.
- Assists with recovery plans during system disruptions caused by delays or cancellations.
- Ensures compliance and tracking of aircraft to designated maintenance locations to meet projected induction dates (e.g., maintenance ferries, repositioning flights).
- Completes GenDec and Smartsheet forms and transmits documents to the cockpit crew.
- Collaborates with System Operations, Airports, and Technical Operations Leadership to identify operational issues impacting ground time for planned maintenance.
- Provides a written Turnover report to the oncoming Planner and shares a copy with the MOC Duty Manager.
- Coordinates with business partners and performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma.
- One (1) year of aviation experience in Aircraft Maintenance or TechOps.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge; may require United States Customs Clearance depending on location.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Service Bulletins (SBs).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work well with others.
- Must stay current on all required training throughout employment (e.g., Quarterly Distance Learning (QDL), Comply365).
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%).
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located; authorization to work in the US is required (this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation or Business.
- Valid Airframe and Powerplant license.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Two (2) years of aviation experience in Aircraft Maintenance Planning or the Aircraft Maintenance field.
- Proficient in TRAX and TOPS.
- Experience establishing credible cross-divisional relationships.
- Results-oriented with the ability to balance diverse and dynamic operational requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility, agility, and change management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Pay
The base pay range for this position starts at $83,786.00 per year.
