Hourly Pay Range: $25.000 - $30.490
This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU-UHW. Employees are required to join the union within 31 days of hire and remain a member.
What You Will Do
- Supports the clinical work flow by mobilizing patients using lift equipment and/or mobilization aids and other trained health care personnel.
- Considers the clinical needs of the patient within a variety of clinical settings.
- Communicates and coordinates with other Healthcare team members in meeting the needs of patients and staff.
- Role models appropriate use of lift and mobilization equipment and/or aids.
- Utilizes appropriate lift and mobilization equipment and/or aids.
- Under the direction of the Registered Nurse may ambulate the patient utilizing the appropriate equipment or assist devices.
- Ambulates the patient from bed to chair, chair to bed, or bed to gurney as well as repositions in bed and/or chair.
Required Qualifications
- 1 Year Hospital or similar experience
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED

- Other Some college course in medical field.
Essential Functions
- Communication and teamwork:
- Communicates relevant patient information regarding patients to appropriate staff members.
- Communicates incomplete activities requiring follow-up to appropriate personnel.
- Recognizes barriers to communication of plan of care and seeks resources or options.
- Makes recommendations for optimizing patient and staff safety to leadership.
- Patient transfers:
- Role models appropriate use of lift and mobilization equipment and/or aids.
- Utilizes appropriate lift and mobilization equipment and/or aids.
- Under the direction of the Registered Nurse may ambulate the patient utilizing the appropriate equipment or assist devices.
- Ambulates the patient from bed to chair, chair to bed, or bed to gurney as well as repositions in bed and/or chair.
- Safety:
- Demonstrates ability to transfer, with assistance, patients with complex clinical support equipment safely, maintaining integrity of intravenous lines, suction devices, feeding tubes, etc.
- Ensures and maintains integrity of unit lift and mobilization equipment.
- Takes appropriate action in life threatening situations and immediately notifies the licensed nurse.
- Staff education:
- Maintains expertise and role models use of lift and mobilization equipment and/or aids.
- In collaboration with unit clinical nurse specialist or educator, participates in and ensures initial and ongoing competencies of patient mobilization for unit staff.
- In collaboration with unit clinical nurse specialist or educator, participates in and ensures initial and ongoing competencies of patient mobilization equipment for unit staff.
- Identifies potential gaps in safe patient mobilization and reports to nursing leadership.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and ability to effectively communicate in a demanding environment preferred.
