About the role

Join Missoula Bone & Joint and Surgery Center as a Part-Time Mobility Coach at the Surgery Center, where your expertise will make a vital difference in patient recovery. Working 29 hours per week that requires flexibility for variable days and hours: Monday - Friday, and every other Saturday with availability from 7:00am - 9:00am based on departmental needs onsite. You will collaborate with a dedicated team focused on excellence in patient care. This position allows you to engage with patients during a critical phase of their treatment and to uphold the core values of integrity, safety, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians in providing care for post-operative patients in an acute setting/23-hour stay
  • Gait training
  • Home exercise program (HEP) instruction
  • DME fitting and education
  • Post-operative education
  • Education on mobility and safety within patients' home and vehicle upon discharge
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to establish patient discharge priorities and status
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education on the recovery process and safety within the patients home and vehicle upon discharge
  • Apply problem-solving skills and commitment to excellence as you support patients on their healing journey

Qualifications & skills

  • Strong clinical and interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to assess patient conditions and react swiftly to any changes in their status
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively educate patients and families on care protocols and recovery plans
  • Interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients during a vulnerable time
  • Attention to detail to monitor vital signs meticulously and document patient responses accurately
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to safety and integrity to maintain the highest standards of patient care and foster trust with both patients and colleagues

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $25-38 per hour, recognizing your skills and commitment to quality healthcare.

Schedule

29 hours per week with flexibility for variable days and hours: Monday - Friday, and every other Saturday with availability from 7:00am - 9:00am based on departmental needs onsite.
