About the role
The Mobile Unit Driver (Shreveport and Vivian, LA area) is responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
- Pick-up of the Medical Mobile Unit from storage parking.
- Transport medical staff to designated areas in a safe and timely manner.
- Maintain Medical Mobile Unit cleanliness and keep it in optimal working order.
- Complete daily log for the unit.
- Setup and breakdown of required materials, monitor fluid levels, and answer work cell phone.
- Greet, assist, and direct patients and other potential patients.
- Screens and registers new patients.
- Aids patients in obtaining services and providing information on funding eligibility and related processes.
- Supports the daily business activities of the Mobile Unit with clerical duties.
- Drive the mobile units to and from designated school sites.
- Complete daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Participate and complete driver education courses as required.
- Follow all traffic laws and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
- Report all mechanical problems to supervisor promptly.
- Assist in general maintenance if needed.
- Keep a log on all repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Demonstrate responsibility for DRCHC costs and conserve supplies and equipment.
- Understand and comply with DRCHC's fire and safety procedures.
- Assist all patients with intake, registration, collection of payments, and healthcare related needs.
- Transport patients and clients using company vehicles safely and professionally.
- Update and verify patient information, addresses, contact details, insurance information, and medical histories.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of personal health and financial information.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with internal and external personnel.
- Answer and direct patient inquiries or complaints to appropriate medical staff members.
- Aid in the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
- Review supply requests to maintain adequate inventory.
- Perform any administrative and clerical job-related duties as needed, assigned, or requested.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Louisiana Driver's license with a clean driving record and no more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years.
- At least two years of healthcare experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Must be able to operate a computer.
- Two to three years of experience driving and maintaining medium to heavy trucks, mobile units, or RVs.
- No DUI convictions on driving record.
Qualifications
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
Skills
- Customer service and patient representative experience.
- Operate a computer.
- Medium to heavy truck, mobile unit, or RV driving experience.

Pay
Full-time (40) hours per week/ non-exempt position during the SBHC calendar school year as established and approved by the governing school board.
Schedule
Work schedules are generally Monday through Friday, based on clinical operations and during the approved SBHC calendar year (August - May).
