Responsibilities
- Travel to customer and on-site locations to perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and warranty recall services.
- Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy in line with Lithia and manufacturer standards.
- Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform authorized repairs on-site.
- Be knowledgeable and skilled in performing all available warranty recalls remotely.
- Occasionally service multiple vehicles in one location and coordinate with external dealers/facilities to streamline repairs.
- Complete all work according to applicable safety requirements.
- Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
- Accurately record time spent on repairs using company time clocking procedures.
- Document work performed and test procedures/results using mobile service software.
- Maintain a clean and organized mobile service vehicle and inventory of tools.
- Communicate with parts department to ensure necessary parts are available before appointments.
- Assess vehicles for additional safety or service needs and communicate findings.
- Provide estimates and obtain customer authorization for additional work.
- Return special tools to proper place and use shop supplies economically.
- Complete all required training and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications.
- Review technical bulletins and publications as assigned.
- Constructively communicate with dealership personnel to satisfy customer needs.
- Report any situation that jeopardizes safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills and basic sales aptitude preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to perform repairs in one or more of the following areas: Lube and Maintenance Services, Engine Repair, Suspension/Steering Repair, Brake Repair, Electrical/Electrical Systems Repair, Heating and A/C Repair, Engine Drivability Diagnosis and Repair.
- Certification/Training: Manufacturer certified in all areas listed above. ASE certifications preferred (minimum of 3 recommended; ASE Master Technician ideal but not required).
- Customer Pay Proficiency Level: Greater than 100% Customer Pay Repairs.
- Automotive Technical Knowledge – Three years’ experience preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, Email, Internet).
- Previous mobile service experience preferred.
