Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on Class 1–8 vehicles and utility-specific equipment.
- Maintain accurate service and equipment repair records and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations.
- Cook up with operations to schedule repairs and reduce vehicle downtime.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine and systems issues.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, following OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Stay current with evolving vehicle technologies and participate in ongoing training.
- Perform inspections on trucks and trailers to assure vehicles are DOT compliant, safe and road worthy.
- Some welding and minor body repair.
- Diagnose and repair of hydraulic systems, gas and diesel engines, truck chassis, air/ electric brakes systems, and electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Maintain shop area in a neat and orderly fashion to ensure a safe work environment.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience working as a mechanic.
- Freightliner, Cummins, Altec, Terex, Chevrolet, Vermeer experience a plus.
- ANSI & Dielectric Inspection Certificates a plus.
- Overtime will be required at times and schedules will vary some weeks.
- Must be flexible.
- Road calls will be required as needed.
- Must have your own tools.
- Must be self-sufficient and driven with regular and predictable attendance, with minimal supervision.
- Adhere to Company Safety Policies.
Education And Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
