Mobile Preventative Maintenance Mechanic

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on Class 1–8 vehicles and utility-specific equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service and equipment repair records and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Cook up with operations to schedule repairs and reduce vehicle downtime.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine and systems issues.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, following OSHA and company safety procedures.
  • Stay current with evolving vehicle technologies and participate in ongoing training.
  • Perform inspections on trucks and trailers to assure vehicles are DOT compliant, safe and road worthy.
  • Some welding and minor body repair.
  • Diagnose and repair of hydraulic systems, gas and diesel engines, truck chassis, air/ electric brakes systems, and electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Maintain shop area in a neat and orderly fashion to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience working as a mechanic.
  • Freightliner, Cummins, Altec, Terex, Chevrolet, Vermeer experience a plus.
  • ANSI & Dielectric Inspection Certificates a plus.
  • Overtime will be required at times and schedules will vary some weeks.
  • Must be flexible.
  • Road calls will be required as needed.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Must be self-sufficient and driven with regular and predictable attendance, with minimal supervision.
  • Adhere to Company Safety Policies.

Education And Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
