Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Requires travel throughout the day location to location.
  • Utilizes standard venipuncture techniques to collect appropriate blood specimens by adhering to correct collection and transport protocol including positive patient identification.
  • Follows all Solaris Diagnostic procedures and policies.
  • Follows all lab safety procedures to minimize risk to self and others; reports gaps and escalates as necessary.
  • Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Adheres to professional standards, federal, state and local requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Maintains favorable driving record as well as valid driver’s license.
  • Must adhere to dress code guidelines.
  • Maintains favorable driving record as well as valid driver’s license.
  • Adheres to strict attendance guidelines.
  • Adheres to all HIPPA guidelines.
  • Utilizes mobile payroll system.
  • Utilizes LIMS tracking system and documents samples and patient information properly.
  • Must adhere to all vehicle safety equipment while driving company-owned vehicles. This will include the Samara tracking as well as dash camera.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1 year of relevant experience interacting with patients.
  • 1 year minimum phlebotomy experience.
  • High School Diploma.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous phlebotomy experience at least one year.
  • Maintain favorable driving record as well as valid driver’s license.
  • Provide proof of auto insurance with state minimum coverage, provided at least quarterly.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to utilize company equipment including Samsara tracking device as well as dash camera.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Strong eye hand coordination in order to accurately identify specimens by touch and sight.
  • Must be able to successfully complete color coordination test.
  • Ability to wear laboratory personal protective equipment (PPE) 3-6 hours out of the day.
  • Frequently required to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
  • Will require driving up to 8 hours per day.

Environment

  • Generally performed in various locations.
  • Frequently exposed to laboratory samples, including but not limited to blood, urine and other bodily fluids.
