Mobile-Phlebotomist

About the role

The Mobile Phlebotomist is an experienced phlebotomist responsible for collecting and handling patient laboratory specimens in various settings, enhancing patient and caregiver engagement.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection using venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab techniques.
• Travel to contracted facilities, patient homes, and health fairs to collect specimens.
• Communicate with patients and family members, demonstrating empathy and providing clear instructions.
• Operate independently with minimal on-site support for challenging collections.
• Maintain accurate patient logs, monitor scheduling systems, and keep detailed records.
• Train and mentor new staff members.
• Participate in quality assurance processes and special projects.
• Write technical documents and plan downtime.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• BLS Certification Required
• High School Diploma or equivalent, compliant with CLIA regulations.
• Current Driver's License, insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Experience in Intermountain Laboratory Services phlebotomy or certification preferred.
• Physical requirements include manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to lift and move supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

• One year of Intermountain Laboratory Services phlebotomy experience or phlebotomy training/certification.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer literacy and proficiency in navigating multiple computer systems.
