Mobile Medical Trailer Truck Driver - GA
Full-time night position with pay ranging from $27 to $35 an hour, depending on experience and location.
About the role
We are seeking dependable and efficient CDL Class A truck drivers to drive tractor trailers for local deliveries of medical diagnostic equipment. Drivers will move trailers at night to locations where appointments are scheduled, as MRI/CT techs scan during the day. Drivers report to a designated parking location daily to pick up their truck, then drive to hospitals and medical clinics to drop off or pick up trailers. Set up and tear down of trailers takes 30-45 minutes and requires unloading or packing up equipment. Drivers typically transport 1-2 trailers per night and will receive 4-6 weeks of paid training to learn routes and trailer set up/tear down.
Schedule
- Shift start: 2PM to 6PM / Shift finish: 12AM to 4AM
- 8-10 hour shifts, 4-5 times per week
- Shifts include weeknights and some weekend nights
Responsibilities
- Drive tractors with automatic transmission
- Ensure trailers are securely connected to tractor
- Set up medical equipment at destination (training provided)
- Comply with ICC and DOT regulations
- Prioritize safety at all times
- Monitor, report, and/or repair mechanical or safety issues that could prevent safe transport of company equipment
- Perform Q.A. checks on equipment after arrival at site
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL Class A) in the state of residence and DOT Medical certification
- Clean DOT driving record
- Comfortable transporting and setting up medical equipment
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy tractor trailers without causing damage to equipment or client property
- 1-2 years of CDL driving experience (2 years preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. at a time, including:
- Patient lift weight: ~30-60 lbs
- Stair weight: ~30-50 lbs
- Electrical cord weight: ~30 lbs
- May be exposed to strong magnetic fields or environmental hazards such as noise
