About the role

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician to support the combined growth of FCSA and Corcoran Fleet Services. This position requires travel and involves servicing various light and medium duty vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and follow-up repairs on light and medium vehicles.
  • Change oil, check batteries, and lubricate equipment.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, and diesel tools to perform minor adjustments and repairs.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, air conditioning, engine electronics, transmission, clutch, differential, and other systems.
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose defective equipment using test instruments like scanners and pressure gauges.
  • Order and pick up parts for installation.
  • Document work according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders.
  • Complete DOT forms and other forms of documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist in cleanup at the end of each day.
  • Communicate with support team in corporate offices to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve PO numbers, and discuss RO findings.
  • Participate in and complete all-in company required safety training.
  • Conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections on assigned service vehicle.
  • Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • One (1) year of experience as an Automotive Technician on light/medium vehicle repair or equivalent combination of technical education/certifications/skills/experiences.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of equivalent experience in a similar technician role.
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without tiring.
  • Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed.
  • Ability to accurately judge distances and determine the type of tools and equipment needed.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed.
