About the role
Our mission is to ensure the physical, operational, and financial integrity of the regional flood risk management system in southeastern Louisiana as a defense against floods and storm surge from hurricanes. We accomplish this mission by working with local, regional, state, and federal partners to plan, design, construct, operate, and maintain projects that will reduce the probability and risk of flooding for the residents and businesses within our jurisdiction.

Job Duties
- Cutting and trimming grass within the Flood Protection Authority right-of-way, including, but not limited to, floodwalls, poles, dead-end streets, and trees.
- Operating one or more of the following types of equipment as a primary, regular, and recurring function of the job, including but not limited to, weed eaters, pole saws, chainsaws, lawnmowers, edgers, loppers, hand pruners, and self-propelled cutting equipment.
- Performing miscellaneous labor duties such as cleaning of Maintenance yard, washing vehicles, trimming trees, graffiti removal, and sand bagging where problems develop.
