Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to lift, move, and pack loads of metal and plastic pipe weighing up to 15,000 lbs
• Navigate tight spaces without causing damage to products
• Complete daily checklist on machinery and report problems promptly to mechanical staff or supervisor
• Drive defensively while carrying loads among pedestrians
• Store inventory in a manner that facilitates rotation
• Cut and load scrap pipe
• Maintain cleanliness of forklift, breakroom, and coil storage areas
• Sweep mill area and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience as a forklift operator in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical ability
• Basic math skills
• Knowledge of load and weight distribution, center of gravity, and warehouse functionality

Physical Requirements

• Must pass forklift certification training and physical exam
• Able to lift up to 100 pounds without the lift truck
• Ability to climb, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, and reach above shoulder level
• Able to withstand varying temperatures
• Must be able to work in different positions for extended periods, including sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, or walking for up to eight (8) hours at a time
• Must utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (steel-toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat)

Pay

The base hourly range for this position is $23/hr - $24/hr.
