Mobile Equipment Operator

About the role

Operate all mobile equipment including loaders, man-lifts, forklifts, flatbed trucks and others to transport Melt Shop and/or Refractory materials. Assist other Melt Shop personnel as instructed.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile equipment including loaders, man-lifts, forklifts, and flatbed trucks to lift and transport materials.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on vehicles and mobile equipment, which includes fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed.
• Ensure loads are within the safe load capacity of each piece of mobile equipment.
• Maintain material in feed hoppers or bins at an adequate operating level.
• Keep constant communication with Melt Shop Team and AMT operations to monitor alloy levels.
• Assist Melt Shop Operations and Refractory area with crusher operations and cleaning as needed.
• Visually inspect materials for non-conformities.
• Communicate problems to responsible personnel in a timely manner.
• Follow all PPE requirements and safety rules and guidelines for all tasks being performed.
• Maintain communication with coworkers through two-way radio and hand signals.
• Demonstrate ability and willingness to work as part of a self-directed team with limited supervision.
• Maintain work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
• Exhibit engagement in GBS tools and methodology.
• Assist coworkers as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
