Mobile Equipment Mechanic/Driver
Job Description
STRUCTURAL, a STRUCTURAL Group Company, is hiring for a hands-on Mobile Equipment Mechanic/Driver for our construction operations located in Linthicum Heights, MD.
- Continual evaluation of construction equipment for required repairs;
- Communicating issues to management;
- Maintenance and minor repairs of all construction equipment, tools, and vehicles;
- Traveling to job sites to inspect, evaluate, service and make minor repairs in the field of construction equipment and fleet vehicle;
- Administrative work relating to paperwork, tracking maintenance logs and other scheduling items.
Minor Computer Skills.
- Assisting with warehouse operations as necessary when not on the road to include but limited to making deliveries and other tasks as needed.
Candidates who meet the following criteria will be considered for this position:
- Experience with small engine repair, diesel and gasoline equipment service, fleet vehicle repair & maintenance preferred.
- Or a recent graduate from a diesel or automotive program.
- Willing to train a candidate with a strong mechanical background.
- Continually evaluates the status of equipment and communicates these issues to the Resource Manager.
- This person is responsible for maintenance and repair of all construction equipment, tools & vehicles.
- We will train on hydraulic and pneumatic machine repair and maintenance.
- Willingness and ability to obtain DOT license.
- Ideal candidate will have their own set of tools. Specialty tools provided.
- Must possess the ability to troubleshoot & diagnose equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines when & what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Performs all work in compliance with industry standards, company safety policies and procedures as outlined in Field Guide to Better Safety.
- Exhibits a Safety 24/7 attitude in all situations.
- Must be flexible with work hours in order to deal with urgent equipment failures or jobsite needs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license in order to operate company vehicles or drive for business purposes.
