About the role
The Doe Run Company is seeking a mobile equipment mechanic to ensure process safety and minimize division downtime. This position is based in Ellington, Mo., and may require occasional travel to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot equipment problems.
- Provide scheduled maintenance and repairs.
- Manage time to provide effective, timely, and efficient repair and maintenance service.
- Install new equipment and modify existing equipment as required per job site.
- Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner.
- Report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations.
- Provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an industrial maintenance course or auto technology course or one year of auto repair experience or industrial maintenance experience.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- A valid, current driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with divisional operations (i.e., mining, milling, smelting).
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment, including cranes, forklifts, skid steer loaders, etc.
- Familiarity with metal fabrication, hydraulics/pneumatics, refractory work, bearings/seals, welding, pipe fitting, pump repair, and mechanical repairs.
- Basic computer skills and diagnostic skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and willingness to learn time management and financial software.
- Basic literacy skills.
- Demonstrated skill in using small hand tools, measuring, and basic mathematical calculations.
Skills

- Basic computer skills and diagnostic skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

Benefits

- 80 hours vacation after 90 days.
Pay
$26.04/hour starting pay with a 5% targeted monthly bonus.
