Mobile Equipment Fleet Mechanic

About the role

JLL seeks a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our Lake Orion, MI team and play a critical role in maintaining operational excellence. In this position, you will perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and mobile fleet assets while ensuring the highest standards of safety compliance and operational efficiency. This role directly contributes to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services by minimizing downtime, maximizing equipment reliability, and maintaining a safe work environment for all team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on manufacturing process equipment and fleet vehicles to ensure optimal performance
• Complete repairs on damaged or worn fleet vehicles and equipment, diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions
• Manage spare parts inventory and execute work orders within 24-hour timeframes to minimize operational disruptions
• Maintain current safety training compliance and actively participate in facility safety programs
• Utilize maintenance management systems (MAXIMO or CMMS) for comprehensive documentation and tracking of all maintenance activities
• Maintain and renew forklift and aerial lift certifications as required
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and support continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of facility and fleet maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Technical proficiency with pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and speed/feed systems
• Valid forklift and aerial lift operator licenses
• Truck Repair Journeyman card holder or documented work history to support issuance of Journeyman card
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

Preferred Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of progressive maintenance experience
• Hands-on experience with MAXIMO or other CMMS platforms
• Controller programming knowledge and automation system familiarity
• Background working in manufacturing facilities
• Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and tracking performance metrics
