Mobile Engineer
CBRE is looking for Building Engineers who love keeping facilities cool, comfortable, and running smoothly in the Portland, OR area. This role supports several facilities, performing repairs and maintenance on building systems, industrial equipment, and grounds.
About the Role
As a CBRE Mobile Building Engineer, you will provide support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. This role requires extensive everyday travel within the Portland, OR area and the ability to live within a designated radius of the job site to reliably work the assigned schedule/shift.
Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and repairs to mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems to keep facilities up to applicable standards.
- Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed for repairs, and maintain inventory of supplies and tools.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life; oversee repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
- Review inspections of building and industrial systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities.
- Oversee compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Operate company-issued vehicles in the execution of daily work responsibilities.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of your job discipline while leading by example and modeling CBRE RISE values.
- Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams.
- Work within broad guidelines and policies, and explain difficult or sensitive information as needed.
Requirements
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Commercial and industrial maintenance experience.
- Proficiency in mechanical (overhead doors), electrical (3-phase, lighting/ballast), and plumbing systems.
- Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office & CMMS).
- 07A Commercial Electrical License.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of four (4) years of proven experience as a building engineer.
- Universal EPA license required; mobile maintenance experience highly preferred.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record with periodic checks.
- Certification in two or more of the following: Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and Refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair, as well as CFC Certification.
Skills
- Meet physical requirements of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to analyze solutions using technical experience and apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Pay
The minimum hourly rate for the Mobile Engineer position is $45.00 per hour, and the maximum hourly rate is $50.00 per hour. Compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
