Primary Responsibilities
- Detect and resolve vehicle malfunctions in both shop and field settings.
- Seek and accept training to advance in your career path.
- Contact the parts department for necessary components.
- Manage inventory on the service vehicle and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Tag and save parts if under warranty or requested by the customer.
- Inspect vehicles for additional service or safety-related work.
- Communicate with service management about additional work, non-needed work, or unexpected repairs.
- Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road test vehicles as required.
- Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Follow service policies and procedures to ensure safety, profitability, and accuracy.
- Achieve industry certifications as needed.
- Stay updated on manufacturer updates and technical bulletins.
- Learnt to use new information technology as it becomes available.
- Mentor less-skilled technicians as assigned.
- Report machinery and equipment defects and malfunctions to department management.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and report any changes to its appearance or condition to management.
- Keep the service truck and/or shop area neat and clean.
- Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and equipment, returning them to proper storage locations after use.
- Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and DOT.
- Report any safety issues to management immediately.
- Interact respectfully with customers in the field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CDL license.
- Experience in heavy duty vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of manufacturer-specific service procedures and technical bulletins.
Preferred:
- Industry certifications.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience with new information technology.
