About the role

A Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician at Kooner Fleet Management Solutions will provide preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including emergency roadside service. This role requires at least 3 years of hands-on experience, DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment.
  • Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency.
  • Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues fast.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to get the job done right.
  • Road test vehicles to ensure every repair meets top-quality standards.
  • Stay productive and efficient, meeting or beating industry-standard repair times.
  • Work with trusted vendors to source parts and keep operations moving.
  • Take ownership of a company-issued service truck, perform maintenance and pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Jump in wherever needed - we're a team that supports each other.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on diesel tech experience working on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
  • DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise that keeps fleets rolling safely.
  • Strong communication skills - you know how to connect and communicate with customers and drivers alike.
  • Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems and digital tools to stay organized and document repairs.
  • Ready for the outdoors - rain or shine at customer yards.
  • Independent, dependable, and self-motivated - you take pride in getting the job done right.
  • A positive attitude and safety-first mindset.
  • Must be 23+ with a clean driving record and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to lift, move, and position heavy equipment or components.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, crawl, and crouch to access vehicle components.
  • Must be able to work in dynamic, high-traffic areas with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise.

$32-38/hr. based on experience.

Schedule

Sunday-Thursday, 10am-7pm.
