Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Prestige Fleet Services is a locally run, family-oriented company serving your community. We are seeking talented techs to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and inspections on a variety of Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after-treatment systems, lift-gates, tires, etc.
• Service clients around the Clayton area.
• Schedule and oversee all maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Repair/replace vehicle/trailer components.
• Open and close repair orders on a company-issued device.
• Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of diesel and trailer repair experience preferred.
• Experienced with AC, reefer work (609 certification a plus).
• Communication skills.
• Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours including weekends and holidays when needed.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.
• Ability to utilize a computer/tablet for electronic processing of work orders which includes adding labor hours, and updating work order statuses.
• 2 years of experience in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• 2 years of experience in truck/trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must possess proper tools.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Certifications are a plus.
• Welding experience.

• Ability to work under extreme weather conditions.
• Physical ability to complete all physical requirements of the job.

Pay

Salary information: $34 - $40/hr. - pay is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

• First and second shifts available.
