About the role
Access Services is seeking a Mobile Crisis Intern to join the Montgomery County Mobile Crisis team based in Plymouth Meeting, PA. The team provides 24/7 support to people in difficult times, addressing mental health, addiction, trauma, and more.
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate access to "hands-on" crisis support through phone counseling and mobile in-person crisis intervention.
- Perform rapid and effective assessment, support, hospitalization (when necessary), linkage to community resources, crisis prevention planning, and follow-up.
- Develop and write action plans in a timely manner with clear and measurable outcomes.
- Participate in assertive outreach to individuals identified to be high users of crisis services.
- Complete progress notes and required documentation in a timely manner for each individual served.
- Engage with an array of people, learning risk assessments, safety planning, and other resources in the county.
Requirements
- Working on a Master's degree in a related field such as psychology, social work, etc. (required).
- Must already have their Bachelor's degree.
- Being humble, adaptable, empathetic, and curious.
- Able to think critically and engage with others.
- Prior work or internship experience related to mental health (strongly preferred).
- Driver's license with 2+ years of driving experience, reliable vehicle, and adequate car insurance (required).
Qualifications
- Valid US driver's license for at least two years, not including time with permit.
- No serious traffic convictions within the past three years.
- (Serious convictions include, but are not limited to, DUI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or three or more traffic violations and/or at-fault accidents within that period.)
- Access to a reliable vehicle during work hours.
- Vehichle must have valid registration and inspection stickers.
- Valid auto insurance.

Benefits
- Rate of $15/hour.
- Mileage reimbursement when using personal vehicle to fulfill internship requirements in the community.
Essential Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Work in program sites and the community routinely providing support to clients and use knowledge of mental health systems in the county to connect people with proper support.
- Work in a standard office environment.
- Utilize desktop computer equipment daily.
- Able to lift or move items associated with sedentary work and light work (exert up to 20 lbs.).
