About the role

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our team in navigating the complex challenges and opportunities presented by the evolving economic landscape of the Johannesburg-Durban corridor. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic planning, industry analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance economic development in the Johannesburg-Durban corridor
  • Conduct market research and provide insights on emerging trends and opportunities
  • Engage with local stakeholders, including government officials, businesses, and community leaders, to foster collaboration and support economic growth
  • Monitor and report on the progress of economic initiatives and make recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of economic development plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in economic development, preferably in a similar geographic region
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to inform decision-making
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
