About the Role

SmartVet Veterinary Services is looking for a Mobile Associate Veterinarian to join our team in Normal, Illinois! As a Mobile Veterinarian with SmartVet, you’ll have the opportunity to develop lasting client relationships while caring for pets in a more relaxed environment. Your days may include wellness and preventative care, minor illnesses, chronic disease management, quality-of-life discussions, and other outpatient services appropriate for a mobile setting. You’ll have the independence that comes with working in the field while still having the backing and resources of the SmartVet team.

About the Team

At SmartVet, we believe great veterinary medicine starts with a great team. We value collaboration, communication, flexibility, and creating an environment where our doctors feel supported. While this position offers plenty of autonomy, you won’t be practicing on an island. You’ll have a team behind you to help with scheduling, client communication, coordination of care, and the day-to-day pieces that allow you to focus on being a veterinarian. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working independently but also enjoys being part of a team and contributing ideas as we continue to develop and grow our mobile veterinary services.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure in Illinois.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
