About the role

Mobile Associates (MA) work as members of a Retail Team of Experts to bring the T-Mobile brand to life. They act as brand ambassadors, building energy and excitement around products and services. This role thrives in a fast-paced environment where technology, customer needs, and retail experiences continuously evolve. Mobile Associates immerse themselves in meaningful customer connections, building and deepening relationships while uncovering customer needs. They educate, demonstrate, and recommend device and service solutions. This is a learning role where new associates proactively build skills and proficiencies in preparation for advancement to Mobile Expert.

Responsibilities

  • Build proficiency in serving and selling to customers while delivering a world-class experience and building loyalty by:
    • Helping customers continue their shopping journey, whether online, through Customer Care, or in-store.
    • Providing hands-on demonstrations of the latest technology in-store.
    • Engaging in side-by-side selling to find personalized solutions beyond basic devices and service plans, including unique accessories and cutting-edge IoT devices.
    • Approaching service and sales needs with composure, integrity, and compassion.
  • Develop skills with and consistently use digital tools in interactions and onboarding to demonstrate:
    • T-Mobile’s expanding coverage and lightning-fast LTE network in the customer’s neighborhood.
    • How T-Mobile plans and services allow customers to live unlimited, stay connected, and go further.
  • Complete training on T-Mobile’s in-store experience, new skills, processes, systems, and reference resources.
  • Maximize time on shift by seeking information between customer interactions and learning about wireless and technology innovations.
  • Establish relationships and partner with T-Mobile employees across channels, including business and customer service, to:
    • Collectively own the customer experience and resolve issues, creating a seamless, run-around-free environment.
    • Successfully identify and handoff small business leads.
    • Support team initiatives and foster an inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • 6 months of customer service and/or sales experience; retail environment preferred (required).

Qualifications

  • Passionate customer advocate with the desire to connect authentically and have fun while doing it (required).
  • Competitive drive and proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced sales environment (required).
  • Willingness to work alongside peers and store leaders, learning and sharing ideas while serving customers and resolving issues (required).
  • Effective at balancing customer needs and performance goals (required).
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Pay

Hourly base pay of $18.00, plus $5.00 per hour training pay during the first 90 days. After completing on-the-job training and promoting to Mobile Expert, associates become eligible for an annualized incentive target of $18,000/year (actual incentives vary based on performance and full-time status). All employees are guaranteed to earn at least $20/hour inclusive of base pay and incentives. Every employee is also eligible for an Annual Stock Grant.
