About the role

Mobile Associates (MA) work as part of a Retail Team of Experts to bring the T-Mobile brand to life. They act as brand ambassadors, building energy and excitement around products and services. This role thrives in a fast-paced environment where technology, customer needs, and retail experiences continuously evolve. Mobile Associates immerse themselves in customer connections, building and deepening relationships while uncovering needs and recommending solutions. This is a learning role where associates proactively build skills to prepare for advancement to Mobile Expert.

Responsibilities

  • Build proficiency in serving and selling to customers while delivering a world-class experience and building loyalty by:
    • Helping customers continue their shopping journey, whether online, through Customer Care, or in-store.
    • Providing hands-on demonstrations of the latest technology in-store.
    • Side-by-side selling to find personalized solutions beyond basic devices and plans, including accessories and IoT devices.
    • Approaching service and sales with composure, integrity, and compassion.
  • Use digital tools in interactions and onboarding to demonstrate:
    • T-Mobile’s expanding coverage and lightning-fast LTE network.
    • How T-Mobile plans and services help customers live unlimited and stay connected.
  • Complete training on T-Mobile’s in-store experience, new skills, processes, and system knowledge.
  • Maximize time on shift by learning about wireless and technology innovations between customer interactions.
  • Partner with T-Mobile employees across channels, including business and customer service, to:
    • Collectively own the customer experience and resolve issues seamlessly.
    • Identify and handoff small business leads.
    • Support team initiatives and foster an inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • 6 months of customer service and/or sales experience; retail environment preferred (required).
  • Passionate customer advocate with a desire to connect authentically and enjoy the process (required).
  • Competitive drive and ability to succeed in a fast-paced sales environment (required).
  • Willingness to work alongside peers and store leaders, learning and sharing ideas while serving customers (required).
  • Ability to balance customer needs with performance goals (required).
  • At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Pay

Hourly base pay starts at $19.50, plus $5.00 per hour training pay during the first 90 days. After completing on-the-job training and promoting to Mobile Expert, associates become eligible for an annualized incentive target of $18,000/year (actual incentives vary based on performance and full-time status). All employees earn at least $20/hour, inclusive of base pay and incentives. Every employee is also eligible for an Annual Stock Grant.
