About the role
Mobile Associates (MA) work as part of a Retail Team of Experts to bring the T-Mobile brand to life. They act as brand ambassadors, building energy and excitement around products and services. This role focuses on creating meaningful connections with customers, uncovering their needs, and recommending tailored device and service solutions. It is a learning role designed to build skills and proficiencies for advancement to the Mobile Expert level. New associates must complete new employee training.
Responsibilities
- Build proficiency in serving and selling to customers while delivering a world-class experience and fostering loyalty by:
- Assisting customers in continuing their shopping journey, whether online, through Customer Care, or in-store.
- Providing hands-on demonstrations of the latest technology in-store.
- Engaging in side-by-side selling to offer personalized solutions beyond basic devices and plans, including unique accessories and IoT devices.
- Approaching service and sales with composure, integrity, and compassion.
- Develop skills in using digital tools during interactions and onboarding to demonstrate:
- T-Mobile’s expanding coverage and lightning-fast LTE network in the customer’s neighborhood.
- The benefits of T-Mobile plans and services, enabling customers to live unlimited and stay connected.
- Complete training on T-Mobile’s in-store experience, new skills, processes, and system knowledge.
- Maximize time on shift by proactively learning about wireless and technology innovations between customer interactions.
- Establish relationships and collaborate with T-Mobile employees across channels, including business and customer service, to:
- Collectively own the customer experience and resolve issues seamlessly.
- Identify and handoff small business leads.
- Support team initiatives and foster an inclusive environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- 6 months of customer service and/or sales experience; retail environment preferred (required).
- Passionate customer advocate with a desire to connect authentically and enjoy the process (required).
- Competitive drive and ability to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment (required).
- Willingness to work alongside peers and store leaders, learning and sharing ideas while serving customers and resolving issues (required).
- Ability to balance customer needs with performance goals (required).
- At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
Pay
Hourly base pay starts at $18.00 per hour, plus an additional $5.00 per hour training pay during the first 90 days. After completing on-the-job training and promoting to the Mobile Expert role, associates become eligible for an annualized incentive target of $18,000 per year, with actual incentives varying based on performance and full-time status. All employees are guaranteed to earn at least $20 per hour, inclusive of base pay and incentives. Every employee is also eligible for an Annual Stock Grant.
