Mobile, AL- Clinical Research Nurse
This part-time Clinical Research Nurse position supports an oncology clinical trial at a dedicated research site in Mobile, AL. The nurse will collaborate closely with patients and the research team to ensure safe, accurate, and compliant execution of all study activities.
Responsibilities
- Pre-screen patients for enrollment by reviewing medical records and evaluating eligibility against study inclusion and exclusion criteria.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate visit logistics in alignment with the clinical trial protocol and site processes.
- Perform detailed medical record and chart reviews to collect, verify, and extract relevant clinical data for the study.
- Navigate and utilize the electronic medical record (EMR) system to access patient information, document study-related data, and maintain accurate records.
- Attend and support patient study visits, ensuring all protocol-required procedures and assessments are completed correctly and on time.
- Perform blood draws and related specimen collection in accordance with clinical standards and specific study requirements.
- Educate patients on study medications, including proper usage, potential side effects, and adherence expectations, while reinforcing informed consent and patient understanding.
- Support patient recruitment and enrollment efforts by clearly and professionally communicating study information to potential participants.
- Collaborate with the research team to maintain high-quality data, ensure protocol compliance, and uphold patient safety throughout the trial.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all documentation, data entry, and patient interactions within a fast-paced research environment.
- Coordinate multiple patient appointments and study tasks while adhering to clinical trial timelines and procedures.
- Follow detailed clinical trial protocols and applicable regulatory requirements throughout all study activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1+ year of experience as a clinical research nurse.
- Direct experience working in oncology, preferably within a clinical or research setting.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including navigation, data entry, and chart review.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough chart reviews and accurately extract relevant clinical information.
- Experience with patient enrollment and recruitment for clinical studies or healthcare programs.
- Competence in performing blood draws and handling specimens according to clinical and study standards.
- Strong patient education skills, with the ability to clearly explain medications, procedures, and study expectations.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical research environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Professional nursing licensure as an RN or LPN in good standing, consistent with local regulations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dedicated clinical research role at a research site.
- Comfort working with patients throughout the clinical trial lifecycle, from pre-screening to follow-up visits.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to coordinate multiple patient appointments and study activities.
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients, families, and the research team.

Schedule
This is a part-time contract role of approximately 20 hours per week for about 7 months, based on-site at a clinical research facility in Mobile, AL. The position follows normal business hours.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
