MN Dual Grant Recipient - Machine Operator

About the role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Machine Operator starts and observes machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.

Responsibilities

• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
• Understand blueprints, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces and sequence of operations.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and similar CNC machine tools.
• Refer to the tooling list and install correct tooling; enter and verify tool offsets.
• Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers; familiarity with elementary CMM, GD&T, and SPC.
• Communicate process issues to supervisor for investigation.
• Complete necessary paperwork and computer entry steps.

Requirements

• Ability to operate vertical/horizontal mill, lathe, or Swiss machinery.
• Troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to perform non-complex adjustments and changes to machinery.
• Must have 1+ years of experience.
• 2-year machining degree preferred.
• Metalworking experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Pay

For candidates based in Minnesota: The pay range for this position is $16.39 - $25.43 per hour. Pay is determined by role, level, location, and additional job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
