Location: Saginaw, TX (onsite) – third shift, hourly
About the role
Blend dry, wet, and refrigerated ingredients to produce finished food products that meet formula specifications, taste, and appearance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-shift preparation and sanitize all product-contact surfaces (piping, utensils, vessels).
- Record data on the mixer SIS form and follow batch sheets without deviation; document any approved adjustments on the batch-adjustment sheet.
- Make approved adjustments, monitor gauges, equipment, and temperatures; maintain records of batches, ingredients, and processing parameters.
- Provide product samples to Quality Control (QC) for testing and approval before packing.
- Read daily production schedule and process orders in established sequence.
- Complete all paperwork in a timely manner and submit to appropriate personnel; fill out work orders as needed.
- Maintain constant communication with spicers, QA, and machine operators.
- Ensure machine operators produce the correct number of cases for each order.
- Manage rework to follow proper rework instructions.
- Perform post-operation housekeeping, close out the shift, and hand off to sanitation or the next shift.
- Follow all food-safety policies, procedures, and regulatory criteria, including SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience in a food-manufacturing environment.
- General knowledge of how ingredients affect the overall product and thorough understanding of each ingredient’s role.
- Ability to read and communicate in English to interpret batch sheets, safety rules, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Reading and math skills to verify ingredient quantities and add ingredients accurately.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with coworkers, other departments, and managers.
- Capable of obtaining forklift certification and safely operating material-handling equipment.
Physical Demands
- Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Exposure to vibrations, chemicals, fumes, food allergens (soy, dairy, etc.), extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and heights over 18 feet.
Schedule
- Typical shifts are 8–12 hours per day.
- Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may be required.
