Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Mission Operations lead in planning and executing mission operations activities throughout the program lifecycle
  • Contribute to systems engineering activities including requirements development, verification planning, integration, test, and operational readiness reviews
  • Collaborate with spacecraft, ground systems, flight software, and payload engineering teams to support operational interface development and system integration
  • Support customer meetings, technical reviews, and program milestones by presenting mission operations products, technical analysis, and program status as required
  • Own the development of assigned portions of mission operations architectures, concepts of operations (ConOps), operational plans, procedures, and supporting documentation
  • Develop and maintain operational products including spacecraft checklists, command scripts, customer training materials, and console documentation
  • Participate in mission rehearsals, simulations, and table-top exercises to validate operational concepts and ensure mission readiness
  • Develop and apply telemetry analysis, trending, modeling, and software tools to evaluate spacecraft health and mission performance
  • Support anomaly investigations through multidisciplinary systems analysis using telemetry, command history, and engineering data
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior team members and serve as the Mission Operations Lead when delegated

Qualifications

  • BS degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant technical field, plus 2-6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with one or more of the following: spacecraft systems engineering, satellite operations, spacecraft subsystem design, ground systems, flight software, integration and test, mission planning, or orbit dynamics
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems through multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Demonstrated ability to independently execute technical work while balancing competing priorities across multiple mission activities
  • Experience developing or executing mission procedures, operational documentation, or spacecraft testing activities
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn complex spacecraft systems, operational concepts, and new software tools
  • Willingness to work extended periods of rotating shifts, off hours and weekend/holidays
