Mission Integrator

About the role

Mission Integrators are the connective tissue between users and what we build. You will embed with customers, understand their actual workflows, identify where hardware and software can change outcomes, and then make that happen. The job ends when the capability is being used and relied upon, not when it's been delivered.

Responsibilities

• Spend significant time with our users; own the customer relationship and the problem definition.
• Work alongside engineers and product designers to integrate solutions into deployable systems.
• Map end-to-end workflows with analysts or operators to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Integrate data sources or configure hardware components for deployment.
• Brief program offices or CIOs on insights and next steps.
• Run training sessions, assess user needs, and adapt solutions based on feedback.
• Determine what capabilities are available, identify gaps, and align Quartermaster’s hardware and software to fill them.

On any given week, you might shift between technical deep-dives, leadership briefings, and hands-on problem-solving without losing fidelity in any context.

Requirements

The most important thing is judgment. You need to be able to walk into an unfamiliar environment, take in incomplete information, and develop a credible point of view on what matters and why. The rest can be learned.

• Experience working in or closely with operational environments: defense, federal, or adjacent sectors.
• Understanding of how decisions actually get made in those organizations.
• Ability to move between levels—comfortable with technical discussions in the morning and briefing senior leadership in the afternoon.
• Honesty when you don’t know something and the ability to quickly close knowledge gaps.
• Technical fluency to work credibly with engineers (no need to write production code, but you must understand what’s hard and why).
• Skill in uncovering what users actually need, which is different from asking them what they want.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in defense, intelligence, or maritime law enforcement.
• Knowledge of naval order of battle (OOB) or maritime intelligence.
• Familiarity with machine learning applications in maritime analytics.
