Supervision and Management

  • Supervise and direct the electrical work in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate with other trades to ensure compliance with the overall project schedule and contract documents.
  • Lead by example through implementation of quality control measures.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and ensure specifications are met.
  • Prepare and provide documents such as Jobsite Safety Analysis, Jobsite Hazard Analysis, and safety reports.
  • Interpret and track project schedule to provide a two-week look-ahead and forecast manpower requirements based on project goals and schedule.
  • Read specifications and blueprints to plan procedures and determine construction requirements.
  • Track and complete weekly time sheets on an iPad or computer tablet.
  • Formally manage and request materials and supplies.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and assign the activities of electricians, apprentices, helpers, and temp workers.
  • Assist project manager in selecting and contracting with subcontractors, and directly oversee subcontractors who complete specific pieces of the project, such as fire alarm, nurse call, etc.
  • Proactively confer with management, trade partners, other departments, and contractors to coordinate work activities and prevent/resolve problems.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Analyze worker performance, foresee production problems, and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
  • Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain basic computer skills, including proficiency in using an iPad or computer tablet for time sheet tracking.
  • Provide input and supervision of the BIM process and installation.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (G.E.D).
  • Licensure as an electrician or 4-10 years related experience and equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
  • Driver's License (preferred).
  • Electrical License (preferred).
