Responsibilities
- Develop and implement organization-wide software architectures for mission-critical operations.
- Translate external interfaces and operational needs into resilient, scalable, and secure technical solutions.
- Design effective software architectures using modern software control systems.
- Lead the building of a software prototype solution using Agile development.
- Provide system architecture that drives modernization, interoperability, and long-term sustainability for national defense.
- Mentor and guide a cross-functional team in developing solutions for customers.
- Apply containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes within Agile and DevSecOps frameworks.
- Design, implement, and maintain software messaging bus systems using protocols like JMS, Zenoh, MQTT, gRPC, or Protocol Buffers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience developing software architectures, Agile methodologies, and executing system integration of complex systems.
- 5+ years of experience with the design, development, testing, or analysis of Missile Defense Weapons Systems or Fire Control Systems.
- Experience supporting overall engineering integration of systems engineering and integration efforts for the DoD, government agencies, or commercial programs.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining software messaging bus systems using protocols like JMS, Zenoh, MQTT, gRPC, or Protocol Buffers.
- Experience developing software within an Agile framework and DevSecOps infrastructure as part of a CI/CD pipeline.
- Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML), DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), Zero Trust principles, and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Ability to lead a cross-functional team and demonstrate initiative in completing complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience with OPIR or Missile Warning Operations.
- Experience architecting and implementing cloud-based solutions to enable scalable, efficient, and reliable systems.
- Experience with risk assessments and threat modeling techniques.
- Experience with code quality and static analysis tools such as SonarQube, Clippy, cargo-deny, or cargo-audit.
- Experience with secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation.
- Knowledge of DoD 5000.01 or 5000.02.
- Ability to display a personal or professional GitHub profile demonstrating projects.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- Master’s degree.

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.
Schedule
This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:
- Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.
Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
