Minor Construction Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and inspecting all phases of the construction process including civil and structural work.
• Administering Minor Planned Projects within a specific timeframe and total project cost (TPC) of less than $1M.
• Ensuring proper execution of contract documents by contractors.
• Assisting in planning and managing single trade projects and supporting Project Managers and Sr Project Managers on larger projects.
• Verifying contractor compliance with codes, regulations, site materials, specifications, blueprints, indoor air quality, plans, commissioning of systems, sketches, actual construction, scheduling of training, alterations, repairs, improvements, reports, change orders, safety, and adding chemicals to systems.
• Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with various stakeholders including architects, engineers, testing labs, general contractors, subcontractors, University faculty and staff, and the general public.
• Ensuring contractors' activities comply with contract requirements and established University standards, guidelines, and requirements.
• Reviewing and verifying payment for materials stored on and offsite, checking submittals against materials used, and verifying the installation of materials and equipment.
• Submitting weekly status reports, weekly percentage completion reports, and daily reports that include project conditions, architectural and engineering communication, general conditions, temperatures, weather conditions, general conditions and activities, site work, subcontractors and personnel, hours worked, description of work performed, equipment used, verbal discussions, oral instructions, phone conversations, visitors to site, job requirements, photos, videos, delays.
• Posting addendums to plans and specifications.
• Managing project coordination and communication with University stakeholders, end users, and clients.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical, or professional discipline.
• Minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
• Preferred background in MEP.
• No certification or licensing required.
