Primary Responsibilities
- Oversight and leadership for all music ministries of FBC Bremen.
- Lead music weekly for two Sunday Morning Worship services:
- First service (9:15AM): Praise-team led
- Second service (10:45AM): Worship-choir led
- Plan worship services in collaboration with the Lead Pastor, ensuring musical selections support the preached Word.
- Select songs that are theologically-rich, drawing from both historic and contemporary sources.
- Lead and coordinate music for additional scheduled services as needed (special services, holidays, funerals, etc.).
- Recruit, train, disciple, and organize volunteers involved in the music ministry.
- Plan and direct rehearsals for praise teams, choir, and instrumentalists.
- Encourage and cultivate strong congregational singing.
Media, Production, & Organizational Leadership
- Provide leadership and direction for the media and A/V production of worship services.
- Work closely with the A/V team to ensure sound, livestream, slides, and service flow are prepared and communicated clearly.
- Oversee the care, upkeep, and scheduling of musical instruments and A/V equipment.
- Support clear communication and coordination across ministries as part of a growing, increasingly structured staff team.
- Help ensure the church’s website and social media presence are clear, current, and aligned with the mission of the church.
Ministry Support & Team Involvement
- Serve as a key team member on the church staff, embracing a collaborative, servant-hearted approach to ministry.
- Aid in ministry care responsibilities as needed, such as: member visitation, hospital visits, counseling support, teaching in ministry settings when appropriate.
- Participate in staff meetings, ministry planning, and church-wide initiatives.
- Steward the music ministry budget responsibly and faithfully.
- Actively participate in and, when appropriate, help lead a small group for the purpose of spiritual growth and discipleship formation.
- Remain adaptable and flexible as the church grows, structures develop, and ministry needs evolve.
Qualifications
- A clear sense of calling to full-time ministry, with a heart for serving the local church.
- A life marked by biblical character and maturity consistent with 1 Timothy 3:2-7.
- Demonstrated ability to lead both choir-based and praise-team based worship.
- Prominent ability to work well on a team, receive direction, and adapt in a growing ministry context.
