Mining Haul Truck Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate CAT 745 rock trucks
• Assist with training and mentoring of other equipment operators
• Know and follow procedures for start-up and shut-down, parking, mounting and dismounting, emergency, fire, and working with ground personnel
• Perform pre-shift inspection of equipment
• Communicate using two-way radio
• Perform minor maintenance activities
• Perform other duties as required
• May be required to lift up to thirty (30) pounds during the workday

Requirements

• 1+ years of machine experience in mining, quarry, construction, and/or earthmoving operations
• Current MSHA 5000-23 certification
• Ability to perform physical functions per job requirements
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English
• Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards
• Willingness and ability to pass pre-employment, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol screening
• Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

Working Conditions

• Regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see
• Occasionally lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds
• Personal protective equipment required, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed: respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, or other equipment
• May be required to work a non-standard schedule, including shift work (other than day shift) in a 24/7/365 operation
