About the role

Bullitt County Stone is developing a new underground limestone mine at our Shepherdsville, KY location and is seeking a Mine Development Technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform bolting and meshing of the roof and ribs.
• Perform duties to apply shotcrete to the roof and ribs of the mine.
• General mine labor in production areas, including conveyor and advancing ventilation duct, water line, electrical cable, etc.
• Ability to safely operate a variety of heavy equipment and machinery in a rock quarry including a roof bolter, front end loader, Manlift, Telehandler and Articulating Haul Truck etc.
• Being trained in various other development positions and filling in as needed during vacations, absences and increased production demand times
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment
• Report equipment problems and identify them to management.
• Complete equipment pre-shift report - Conduct thorough Workplace Exam, to identify and correct hazards daily
• Aid other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environment
• Able to maintain safe working conditions
• Self-motivated individual, must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision
• Able to perform a variety of duties, such as manual hands-on labor, maintenance, operating equipment and other duties as assigned
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation
• Able to learn quickly
• Willing to work weekends and overtime
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen
• Experience in tunneling or mine development considered a plus
• Some Heavy Equipment Experience is preferred

Pay

$27.00/hr. for entry level candidates. This includes a $23.00 per hour base and $4.00 shift differential. Overall compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and skillset.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, Some Saturdays as needed. Wages starting at $27.00/hr. for entry level candidates. This includes a $23.00 per hour base and $4.00 shift differential. Overall compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and skillset.
