Daily Job Duties – What You'll Do Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures — attend safety meetings and look out for yourself and your teammatesMaintain industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, and hand and power toolsMove, assemble, install, and dismantle machinery as requiredRead and interpret schematic diagrams, blueprints, and sketches to plan and execute repairsChange bearings, motors, gearboxes, conveyor belts, sprockets, and drive chainsReplace hydraulic hoses and perform minor welding and fabrication workOperate forklift, manlift, and crane to support maintenance tasksWork with the millwright team on preventative maintenance, scheduled repair projects, and daily production supportTroubleshoot mechanical problems and lead or assist with unscheduled repairs as they come upPerform daily equipment inspections and report defects or needed repairs to your supervisorKeep the yard and work areas clean and safe — sweeping, shoveling, and general clean-up as neededCommunicate over radio with teammates and cross-train in other positions as needed No two shifts are the same — you’ll be solving real mechanical problems on industrial equipment every day. 2–5 years of millwright or industrial maintenance experience required. Job Requirements – What We're Looking For 2–5 years of millwright or industrial maintenance experience — requiredHands-on experience with bearings, gearboxes, conveyor systems, drive chains, and hydraulic hosesWelding and fabricating experience — even basic skills go a long way hereAble to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and sketchesAble to operate forklift, manlift, and crane — or willing to get certifiedStrong troubleshooting instincts — you can diagnose a problem and act on it fastDependable — shows up on time and ready to work every shiftAble to work independently and adapt to changing priorities without constant supervisionAble to stand or walk for most of the shift (up to 12 hours)Able to lift up to 50 lbsComfortable working outdoors in heat and all weather conditionsFlexible to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays when neededBilingual preferredCandidates within 50 miles of location preferredMust pass a hair drug test and background check About Us – Why Trademark Metals Recycling & Nucor?
