Millwright General Foreman in Cameron, LA

Essential Duties

• Safety-promote safety and work safely around the hazards associated with the construction field.
• Plan, coordinate and/or supervise construction activities of crews.
• Thoroughly review contract and all available scope documents, drawings, specifications, and shop estimate.
• Study project execution and tracking documents including the project execution plan, project safety plan, OC plan, schedule, man loading projections, equipment rental schedule, b cost breakdown and cost codes, Installed quality and labor tracking plan, and subcontracting strategy.
• Ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
• Interact with Superintendent to ensure all company, client, and project policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Interface with all project team members as required in the establishment of project schedules and resolving schedule problems.
• Ensure that materials, drawings, manpower, specifications, tools, consumables, and equipment are available when needed.
• Provide prioritized work activity instructions to all craftsmen and monitor their progress.
• Aid in the implementation/interpretation of safety programs.
• Mentor craft personnel for professional development.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and guidelines.

Qualifications & Required Skills

• Four (6) years of experience in craft.
• One (1) year as Foreman or higher working in an industrial construction setting.
• Familiar with construction methods, techniques, and labor requirements and now they apply to industrial construction projects.
• Ability to effectively interact with project team members, clients, subcontractors, and craft employees.
• Possess excellent leadership skills and have the ability to effectively manage craft employees.
• Hands-on job foreman experience.
• Completion of Safety related certifications such as OSHA 10 or Safety council programs as required by company and or client.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have locking tool box and tools necessary to perform the job.
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Physical/Site Requirements

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas.
• Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• Work at heights with fall protection, work from manlifts, baskets, JLG’s etc.
• PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
