Essential Duties
- Safety-promote safety and work safely around the hazards associated with the construction field.
- Plan, coordinate and/or supervise construction activities of crews.
- Thoroughly review contract and all available scope documents, drawings, specifications, and shop estimate.
- Study project execution and tracking documents including the project execution plan, project safety plan, OC plan, schedule, man loading projections, equipment rental schedule, b cost breakdown and cost codes, Installed quality and labor tracking plan, and subcontracting strategy.
- Ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
- Interact with Superintendent to ensure all company, client, and project policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Interface with all project team members as required in the establishment of project schedules and resolving schedule problems.
- Ensure that materials, drawings, manpower, specifications, tools, consumables, and equipment are available when needed.
- Provide prioritized work activity instructions to all craftsmen and monitor their progress.
- Aid in the implementation/interpretation of safety programs.
- Mentor craft personnel for professional development.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and guidelines.
Qualifications & Required Skills
- Four (6) years of experience in craft.
- One (1) year as Foreman or higher working in an industrial construction setting.
- Familiar with construction methods, techniques, and labor requirements and now they apply to industrial construction projects.
- Ability to effectively interact with project team members, clients, subcontractors, and craft employees.
- Possess excellent leadership skills and have the ability to effectively manage craft employees.
- Hands-on job foreman experience.
- Completion of Safety related certifications such as OSHA 10 or Safety council programs as required by company and or client.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have locking tool box and tools necessary to perform the job.
- Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.
Physical/Site Requirements
- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas.
- Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
- Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
- Work at heights with fall protection, work from manlifts, baskets, JLG’s etc.
- PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
