As a Milling Machine Machinist – Level 2 located in San Diego, CA at the Rancho Carmel Site, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. You will machine parts per specification by setting up and operating CNC and/or manual equipment. This position will work a 9/80 schedule.
Responsibilities
- Ensure quality of the product by performing both in-process and final part inspections.
- Maintain care and upkeep of equipment, assuring tooling and materials readiness.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Adapt to constant change and frequent communication within management and engineering.
- Perform other related work assignments, special projects, and duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor or Shift Lead.
- Work overtime and weekends as required.
- Work in a standing position for extended time periods.
- Lift or move a minimum of 35-50 lbs. for up to 12 hours per day; push or pull 35-60+ lbs. occasionally throughout the workday.
- Resolve unforeseen, unique issues as they arise in machining parts.
- Understand and apply Lean manufacturing principles and disciplines.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
- 1 year of experience on 3 Axis CNC machines (4 and 5 Axis experience is a plus).
- NC programming experience.
- Experience running manual machines and performing set-ups.
- Experience with Fadal and/or Haas Controller preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret production specifications, diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical specifications (English).
- Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Experience in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Ability to follow written set-up instructions and perform unique set-ups.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in complex measurements and advanced shop math calculations relative to tolerances, dimensions, tooling, and feeds and speeds.
- Experience fabricating component parts where set-ups are non-routine and tolerances are difficult to acquire and maintain.
- Experience with various materials and machining processes.

Pay
Primary level salary range: $61,100.00 - $101,800.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; actual offers consider the scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
