Mill Worker

About the role

The Stacker’s primary responsibility is to feed and/or stack lumber into and off a saw.

Responsibilities

• Feed and/or stack lumber into a saw to be cut to a specific size.
• Lift material repeatedly.
• Verify cut size using tape measure according to cut sheet.
• Band finished product together and label it for forklift operators to take to the next station.
• Clean and maintain equipment and surrounding area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist other team members within the department as needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent; or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work well with a partner.

Physical Demands

• Stand, walk, bend, and stoop throughout the day.
• Lift a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day, as well as other physical duties as needed.
• Stand and/or walk for 8 hours per day with 2–15 minute breaks in between.
• Utilize tools.
• Lift and carry lumber of different sizes and other products.
• Communicate efficiently and clearly with other team members.
• Learn and follow company procedures and work instructions consistently.
• Work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
• Work in extreme temperatures.
