Mill Operator-1st shift-(4a-2p Mon-Thurs.)

Responsibilities

• Follow all start-up and shut-down procedures at the beginning and end of shift.
• Process all orders using order tracking software and according to department flow needs.
• Follow appropriate set-up check procedures, spot checks, and material checks for all orders.
• Scan all orders out of order tracking software when complete and move them to the next appropriate workstation.
• Attend meetings when necessary.
• Provide daily feedback and improvement suggestions.
• Operate cutting, milling, drilling, tapping, finishing, and de-burring machines with a working knowledge.
• Perform quality control duties with a high degree of accuracy to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Adjust chemical balances, rack and unrack, chamfer, and assemble parts.
• Interact with teammates and read and follow blueprints.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to read blueprints along with experience using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
• Strong math skills.
• Understand the department’s priorities while expanding knowledge of the 80/20 product catalog.
• Can read, write, and speak English.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Embodies the 80/20 attitude in all aspects of the job.
• Able to stand, twist, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, climb ladders and stairs, and lift 40 lbs. continuously for a 10-hour workday.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using a computer with basic software applications.
• 1 or more years of experience with cutting, milling, drilling, tapping, finishing, and de-burring machines.
