About the Role
The Military Retail Keyholder provides outstanding customer service experiences using elements of GameStop's Buy-Sell-Trade Model, The Circle of Life, and Solution Selling techniques. This position ensures products are easy to see and buy, shares product and gaming knowledge with customers, maintains a clean and organized shopping environment, and fosters customer loyalty and repeat business. The role also involves assisting the store management team in supervising store activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver world-class customer service by greeting customers promptly, addressing questions and concerns courteously, assisting with gaming needs, informing customers of promotions and trade-in programs, and recommending additional items.
- Prioritize customers over tasks by circulating throughout the store to assist them.
- Process accurate customer purchases and returns using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Respond to customer inquiries in person or via phone promptly and professionally.
- Supervise staffing levels to ensure consistent, high-quality customer service.
- Drive sales and customer loyalty by creating complete customer solutions, demonstrating interest in each customer, and making technology easier and more affordable.
- Promote GameStop’s customer benefits, including the new title reservations program and Power Up Rewards loyalty program.
- Demonstrate commitment to the store team through dependability, continuous improvement, and effective feedback.
- Supervise and provide feedback to Military Retail Keyholders to ensure world-class customer service.
- Assist with training store associates on job responsibilities, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Maintain awareness of associate and customer safety, addressing hazardous situations immediately.
- Assist with store inventory counts, stocking merchandise, and organizing products on the selling floor.
- Reconcile daily business transaction totals accurately in the POS system.
- Complete Playbook and closeout paperwork for daily transactions and bank deposits correctly.
- Ensure the store has sufficient cash and change for sales transactions and make bank deposits daily.
- Inspect shipments for discrepancies and record them in the POS system.
- Visually inspect associates' and managers' packages at store closing or shift end.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Military Retail Keyholders in the absence of management.
- Verify hours worked for Military Retail Keyholders and close out payroll in the absence of management.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age with state-required proof of age documents.
- At least 1 year of retail sales, customer service, and/or management experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift merchandise up to 20 lbs. from ground level to a minimum height of 4 feet.
- Ability to work alone and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours.
- Must have transportation to make bank deposits as required.
Skills
- Proficient customer service skills.
- Effective communication in spoken and written English; bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Proficiency in operating a POS computer system and completing required paperwork.
- Working understanding of basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Working knowledge of alphabetizing.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Strong problem-solving skills and judgment abilities.
- Ability to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deliver bank deposits according to loss prevention safety guidelines.
- Ability to work extended hours or days, including Sundays.
- Ability to remain effective under pressure and handle stress professionally.

Pay
