Military Fellowship Program: Program Manager
About the role
SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.
Responsibilities
- Oversee total Program Integration Management for multiple complex projects and major systems, focusing on customer relationships, cost, schedule, and technical planning.
- Track and report on project status, technical execution, and overall program performance.
- Manage high-risk programs with budgets of $20M or greater, involving high customer interaction.
- Supervise program and project staff to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Lead proposal tasks from first customer interaction, including defining requirements, creating basis of estimates, negotiating, and securing contract awards.
- Participate in business resource planning and tracking in coordination with other corporate entities.
- Formulate and lead a team to fulfill program requirements.
- Identify, track, and resolve program issues and problems.
- Manage program risks by identifying, mitigating, tracking, and managing them.
- Conduct routine meetings and interface on project/program status.
- Develop proposals, conduct research and fact-finding, coordinate audits, and negotiate with project/program stakeholders to ensure initiatives meet cost, budget, and schedule constraints.
- Support the Program Director and Business Operations in fulfilling their responsibilities for the Business Area.
Qualifications
- You Must Have:
- Currently serving as ACTIVE DUTY military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Management, Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in project or program management.
- 3+ years leading medium scale projects; scope spanning 1-2 years, while leading teams made up of 5+ cross functional team members.
- You Prefer:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (will not be considered in lieu of required experience).
- Advanced degree in Business, Management, Engineering or related field (may be considered in lieu of 1 year of required project/program management experience).
- Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
- Working knowledge of Program Management Institute Program Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
- Managing projects using Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), agile and or spiral development models.
- Managing projects requiring Earned Value Management.
- Understanding with application tools and data architectures.
- Ability to reinforce the usage & application of Corporate PM tools.
- Ability to participate in program management (PM) process & tool improvement initiatives for the Business Area.
- Ability to keep program management informed of function & process changes within project controls.
- Ability to enhance program management expertise in the staff.
- Experience with ensuring compliance with approved Corporate and ISO 9001:2000 Policies and Processes.

Pay
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $143,487.14 - $197,294.82. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
