What you’ll be doing:
- Schedule: Two twelve-hour shifts per week, including two weekend days per month
- The Milieu Therapist facilitates groups based on core curriculum, provides meal monitoring and meal support, and offers milieu support, de-escalation and behavior coaching to patients in IP/Res and PHP programs. The Milieu Therapist may be required to work on-call shifts based on business needs, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Facilitates curriculum-based groups.
- Provides meal monitoring and support.
- Documentation of groups, meals and patient check-ins and observations
- Supports Milieu including the following:
- De-escalation and crisis management
- Bathroom monitoring
- Monitoring outside breaks
- Conducts self-harm and suicide assessment
- Supports morning routine in IP/Res programs
- Collects weights, vitals and urine in some settings
- Implements individual behavior management plans for some patients and serves as clinical lead for the program in standalone programs in evenings and weekends. Will lead more advanced groups.
- Coverage for Primary Therapists with support from Clinical Manager or Clinical Director
Must haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in mental health or related degree program (required)
- Master’s degree in mental health or related degree program (required)
- Intern or associate license from appropriate state licensing board (required)
- Minimum 18 months of experience in a behavioral health or related field (requirement waived with relevant master's degree)
Bonus qualities:
- 1+ year facilitating groups (preferred)
