MIG Welder 2nd shift- Southern Fulfillment Center

About the Role

A MIG Welder interprets blueprints, plans welding requirements, measures, cuts, and joins metal components to specifications. The role requires maintaining a clean work area, adhering to safety guidelines, and ensuring the final product meets quality and industry standards. Physical and mental stamina, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to meet deadlines in extreme weather conditions are essential.

Responsibilities

• Promote the company’s mission and values by welding quality parts for painting or shipping to customers.
• Manage daily workflow and production of customer orders.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Interpret blueprints and produce parts within specified tolerances, ensuring all welds are watertight and pass quality inspection.
• Produce parts as per orders in the LMS and maintain utilization targets set by supervisors.
• Coordinate with material handlers for fixtures and materials needed.
• Report discrepancies to QA and supervisors.
• View blueprints and claim daily production in the LMS.
• Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including lifting or holding heavy items.
• Perform other duties as assigned by managers, supervisors, or leads.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of manufacturing experience in MIG welding (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Basic computer skills to view blueprints and shop orders.
• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to set up and operate a MIG welder.
• Must pass Quality Assurance’s internal test for light wall, heavy wall, and standard wall galvanized steel coded material.

Physical Demands

The role requires frequent walking and occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment is typically quiet, though in manufacturing areas, personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required due to noise levels.
